Probable starters are still unannounced for Monday's 6:35 PM ET first pitch, which is a storyline in itself for Baltimore. The Orioles burned through Trevor Rogers, Brandon Young, and Kyle Bradish in a three-game home set against Washington to close out the weekend. Whoever takes the ball for Baltimore on Monday is almost certainly not one of those 3 — and the rest of their rotation has been a significant problem. Young has been brilliant in 2026 (3.04 ERA, 9-1 in his 10 starts), but the Orioles are 23-36 in games he doesn't start. That gap tells you everything about what this rotation looks like on the back end. The Orioles' lineup is just as thin. Adley Rutschman — Baltimore's best hitter and the anchor of their offense — took an errant throw to the head on June 18 against Seattle and has been navigating concussion protocol since. He's eligible to return but still day-to-day entering this series. Jackson Holliday is dealing with a groin. Ryan Mountcastle is on the 60-day IL. Jordan Westburg just had Tommy John surgery. The Orioles are essentially running a Triple-A bench through a big-league lineup right now. The White Sox are a genuine story this month. Rookie Sam Antonacci has been on fire, slashing .328/.438/.557 in June with 3 home runs, and Miguel Vargas delivered a walk-off homer against Cleveland last week. Chicago's 2-3 in their last 5 — they dropped a tough series finale to the Guardians in extra innings — but the bigger picture is a 41-38 record and first place in the AL Central. For a team that went 60-102 a year ago, this is a different club. The one legitimate concern is the back end of the bullpen: Seranthony Dominguez has blown saves in consecutive games and the ninth inning has been shaky. The Orioles have found some offense when it wasn't expected — Samuel Basallo had his first career multi-homer game Tuesday, and Gunnar Henderson has turned his season around after a rough April and May. There's a real lineup in there when it's healthy. But 38-44 with those missing pieces, going up against a White Sox team with legitimate momentum and a rookie tearing the cover off the ball? The math doesn't favor Baltimore here. First pitch is Monday, June 29 at 6:35 PM ET.
