Spencer Arrighetti (7-1, 1.94) gets the ball for the Astros opposite Grayson Rodriguez (2-2, 9.50), which on paper might be the most lopsided pitching matchup of the night. Arrighetti was named AL Pitcher of the Month for May after a 0.93 ERA month, and his last outing — 4 IP, 4 ER against the Pirates — counts as the first actual blemish on his season. Rodriguez, meanwhile, is 4 starts into a comeback from a shoulder issue that cost him nearly two years, and he was tagged for 7 earned in 3.2 innings by Colorado last time out.
Even with that, Pinnacle has the Astros at just -129 — a friendlier number than you'd expect given the form gap. Part of that is the Angels' lineup waking up: they hung 13 on the Dodgers on Sunday after losing 9-2 the night before. Part of it is Arrighetti's 4-inning, 4-run hiccup against Pittsburgh suggesting the regression monster is at least in the neighborhood.
Houston is 30-37 and dragging, but they're 3-2 over their last 5 with the offense doing real damage when it shows up — 11 on the Pirates, 13 on the A's in the back end of a doubleheader. The Angels are 25-41 and basically held together with tape at this point. Vaughn Grissom is day-to-day with a side issue, Jorge Soler hit the IL with an oblique, Gustavo Campero fractured his hand, and Jack Kochanowicz landed on the 15-day with elbow inflammation on Sunday.

- Day-To-DayWalker Janek C — Double-A Corpus Christi placed Janek on its 7-day injured list Sunday due to an unspecified injury.

- 10-Day-ILYoan Moncada 3B — Moncada isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
- 15-Day-ILJack Kochanowicz SP — The Angels placed Kochanowicz on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right elbow inflammation.
- 60-Day-ILTravis d'Arnaud C — D'Arnaud (foot) told reporters Saturday that he does not have a timetable for his return from the 10-day injured list, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
- 60-Day-ILBen Joyce RP — Manager Kurt Suzuki said Tuesday that Joyce (shoulder) has resumed his throwing program in Arizona, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
The Astros' med chart is its own horror show — Hunter Brown, Lance McCullers, Cristian Javier, Ronel Blanco, Hayden Wesneski, and Brandon Walter are all on the IL with various arm issues, and Carlos Correa just had ankle surgery. Yainer Diaz is close to a rehab assignment, which would be a real lift behind the plate. The fact that this team is still hovering near .500-adjacent with that pitching depleted is a credit to Arrighetti basically dragging the rotation on his back.

Total sits at 9.5 with the under juiced to -126, which feels right — Arrighetti is the kind of arm that compresses a game, and even with Rodriguez throwing batting practice, the Angels are missing two of their better bats. If you're playing this, the under or Astros run line (+125 at Pinnacle on +1.5) are the two cleanest looks. Just don't be the person who lays -129 on a 30-37 team in Anaheim and feels great about it.
