Logan Webb (2-4, 4.82) gets the ball for the Giants opposite Robert Gasser (0-1, 6.48) with first pitch at 6:40 PM CT. Webb's record and ERA don't look like the Webb anyone is used to, but his last time out he ate up the Rockies for 4.1 innings of 1-run, 5-strikeout work in a no-decision. Gasser's last start was the opposite kind of line — 4.1 innings, 4 earned, 4 walks against the Dodgers on May 23.
The bigger story isn't on the mound, it's in the dugout the Giants are trying to climb out of. They got steamrolled 16-2 on Monday behind Jackson Chourio and a Brice Turang reawakening, then ran into Kyle Harrison matching his season high with 12 strikeouts in an 8-3 loss Tuesday. Milwaukee is 21-7 since the start of May and a season-high 16 games over .500. San Francisco is 23-38, last in the NL West, and has lost 4 of 5.

The injury list is part of why this looks so lopsided. The Giants are running a rotation without Tyler Mahle (hamstring) and with Landen Roupp day-to-day after his own 8-run beatdown by these same Brewers on Monday. The outfield is missing Heliot Ramos and Harrison Bader, and the bullpen has essentially been gutted — Randy Rodriguez, Hayden Birdsong, Jose Butto, Jason Foley, Rowan Wick and Joel Peguero are all on the 60-day. Matt Gage just joined the 15-day with knee inflammation. There's not a lot of cavalry coming.

- Day-To-DayLanden Roupp SP — Roupp (5-6) took the loss Monday against the Brewers, allowing eight runs on eight hits and five walks in four innings. He struck out four.
- 10-Day-ILHeliot Ramos LF — Ramos (quadriceps) will begin a hitting progression at the Giants' spring training complex in Arizona on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

- 60-Day-ILJoel Peguero RP — The Giants placed Peguero on the 60-day injured list Monday due to a left hamstring strain, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
- 60-Day-ILJared Oliva CF — Oliva (wrist) started at designated hitter and went 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Triple-A Sacramento's 6-4 loss to Reno on Saturday.
- 60-Day-ILReiver Sanmartin RP — Sanmartin (hip) tossed a scoreless inning in Triple-A Sacramento's 11-6 win over Sugar Land on Tuesday.

- 15-Day-ILBrandon Woodruff SP — Woodruff (shoulder) will throw a three-up live batting practice session Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
- 15-Day-ILJared Koenig RP — Koenig (elbow) said his live bullpen session went well Tuesday and he expects to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
- 15-Day-ILLogan Henderson SP — Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that Henderson might not make his next scheduled start Wednesday against the Cardinals due to back tightness, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
- 60-Day-ILAngel Zerpa RP — The Brewers transferred Zerpa (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Sunday.
Milwaukee isn't perfectly healthy either — Brandon Woodruff is still working back via live BP and Quinn Priester's rehab assignment just moved to the complex league — but when your lineup is putting up 24 runs in 2 nights, you can afford to wait on the rotation reinforcements. Gasser's 6.48 ERA is the one crack in the armor, and if Webb is anywhere close to vintage Webb, the Giants at least have a path to a competitive game.
The market doesn't really buy that path. Pinnacle has Milwaukee at -128 on the moneyline with the total at 7.5 leaning over (-129). Given the Giants are 0-for-the-series and the Brewers' offense is currently operating in cheat code, the run line at -1.5 (+160) is where the more interesting conversation lives. San Francisco just needs a night that doesn't look like the last 2.
