The whole show was built around one bit. Rone, Feitelberg, Caroline Baniewicz, Tommy Smokes and Jackie Nichols signed a lease together in New York City, and the tagline sets the stakes: 'If we don't get views. We get evicted.' Every episode has been about scraping together rent money, and nobody has been shy about how dumb some of the plans got. At one point they were putting on a magic show to cover the month. Another episode's title admitted it was either their best or worst idea for rent money yet.

So the news isn't that they got evicted. It's that they're leaving on their own. The episode posted to podcast feeds under the title 'The Apartment Live: We Broke Our Lease,' and it runs over 2 hours.

The Apartment Show is breaking the lease on their apartment

The timing matters because the show is still young. It has about 8 episodes on the feed. The last few weeks were a Tommy Smokes and Rone fight hashed out live on air, 2 new Barstool employees, Sydney and Anna, joining the show, and just last week an episode asking whether Nicky Smokes was moving into the apartment. That's a lot of plot for a show that's only a couple months old, and now the building itself is gone.

What nobody has answered yet is what happens to a show named after an apartment once the apartment is gone. The easy guess is a new place and a new round of rent schemes, since 'we need a place to live' is the whole engine of the show. But nothing announced so far says where they're headed or why the lease had to go, so for now all we know is what's in the episode title: they broke the lease.

New episodes drop on Mondays, and the live shows have been where the real news breaks. Expect the next one to explain where 5 roommates, a camera crew and a pile of failed money-making ideas end up next.
