It started early with Angel Reese setting the tone, and it snowballed from there. The NBA's own account caught the run in real time as Reese and the Dream broke the game open in the second quarter.

By the final buzzer, Reese's line read like a stat sheet typo: 20 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists on a flawless 9-of-9 from the field, including 2-of-2 from three. That's her 25th double-double of the season, still tops in the WNBA, and it made her just the third player in league history to post a 20-point double-double while shooting 100% from the floor. "I was just in the mode," Reese said afterward. "When you see the ball go through the net, you just continue to shoot it."
Rhyne Howard was the other half of the demolition, going 5-of-8 from three on her way to a game-high 26 points, adding 5 assists and 3 steals. Atlanta's shooting was so efficient across the board that the Dream also set franchise records for made field goals (46), assists (35) and three-pointers (16), while posting the second-best field goal percentage in team history at 63.9%.

The 124 points fell just one shy of the WNBA's single-game scoring record, set by the Toronto Tempo against these same Sparks back in June. Los Angeles, on the other end of two of the league's biggest offensive explosions this season, dropped to 12-24 and was eliminated from playoff contention. Atlanta, meanwhile, improved to 23-13 and has now won 8 straight in the series against the Sparks — a good sign as the Dream push for playoff positioning down the stretch.
