Season 2 of Baldstool has been building toward this from the jump. Donnie, White Sox Dave, and a gaggle of stoolies hauled themselves to Istanbul for Estenove hair transplants, and Episodes 1 and 2 were mostly the lead-up — belly dancers, open water, nightlife, all the standard Donnie Does World detours before anyone actually let a doctor near their scalp. Episode 3 is where the show stops messing around and gets to the part everyone signed up for.
The official rundown of procedure day: 28 guys, one clinic, and the tagline that '5 to 10 minutes of pain' is the price of admission.
The episode's marquee moment is Pat hitting the table, and naturally the last two faces he wanted hovering over him mid-procedure were Donnie and Dave. That's the whole bit — these are not exactly soothing bedside-manner guys, and turning a serious medical procedure into a Baldstool segment is the entire pitch of the show. Pat reportedly got through it, even copping to the idea that if Estenove can fix him up, the place performs miracles.
Pat on the table, with the two worst possible observers in the room watching the whole thing happen.
It wasn't all Pat. Connor Mook got the full anesthesia-shot treatment while the crew serenaded him with Savage Garden, which sounds like a war crime and looks like one too. Mintzy, meanwhile, apparently did not love the bald look in the mirror — a tough watch for PMT diehards who got a couple weeks of buffer content while he healed up. The Turkish doctors also clocked Mintzy's complete lack of a backside, which Donnie is already floating as next season's BBL-or-bust storyline.
Mook getting numbed up while the crew sings 'Truly Madly Deeply' over him, which is somehow real footage.
The other thread running through Episode 3 is the Turkish Barber payoff. Last time Donnie and Dave were in Turkey they never got the full experience, and this trip they made a point of correcting that before anyone went under the needle. It's the kind of bit that only lands because the show actually went and did it — straight razors, hot towels, ear hair on fire, all the stuff that's become its own genre on the internet.
Donnie and Dave finally getting the full Turkish Barber treatment they missed on their first trip.
Three episodes deep, Baldstool has basically become Barstool's version of a travel-documentary-meets-medical-show, and Episode 3 is the one the whole season was pointed at. 28 fewer bald guys walking the earth, one engagement nearly torpedoed in the process, and a Mintzy BBL tease already on the table. Season 2 still has more in the tank, but procedure day was the payoff.
