TLDR: The Gambling Cave's Week 3 sweat had everything: a rare fast Steelers start, a Chris Godwin touchdown wiped out by holding, Mintzy cashing overs and Big Cat losing a Jack Black argument to Steven Cheah.

  1. The late games hit harder. Tampa trailed Minnesota 17-10 in the 3rd, and the room still had a Bucs sweat going. Then a big man rumbled for the Bucs, and Stevie got a victory shoulder rub on the couch while the crew hyped him up.

    About 15 minutes later came the gut punch of the day. Chris Godwin broke what the crew called an 80-yard touchdown on 3rd-and-29, the room jumped up, and then a flag for holding took it all back. Tampa never recovered. The Vikings won 23-16 and the Bucs dropped to 0-3.

    Not everybody got hurt, though. Mintzy stayed on the overs and cashed both of them, Raiders-Saints over 43.5 and Cardinals-49ers over 48.5, in the same late window that swallowed the Godwin touchdown.

    So here's where Week 3 leaves the Cave. Mintzy is hot, Cheah is untouchable in arguments and the Steelers remembered the 1st quarter exists. Big Cat is still waiting for the football gods to cut him a break. Unless the slate curse carries into Week 4, the couches will be back next Sunday.
