This is the kind of crossover you don't see coming. Joe Taslim — the guy from The Raid 2 and Mortal Kombat — apparently walked into the office, ran a stunt-fighting clinic, and then actually directed a full combat sequence with the crew at Kano Martial Arts. The promo cycle for The Furious caught a tailwind no studio could have scripted, because the Barstool guys are legitimately fired up about it.

The actual scene dropped a little later, and it is not a goof. Choreography on a wall-quote-of-Jigoro-Kano backdrop, performers in Kano Martial Arts shirts, real strikes thrown in a real dojo. It looks like a piece of the movie, because it kind of is — Taslim treated it like a set, not a bit.

Naturally, Nate declared himself the breakout star, which is the only acceptable Nate response to being on camera around trained martial artists. He says he stole the show. He says he wants to learn judo now. Both of those things can be true and also extremely funny at the same time.

Whether you buy a ticket or not, this is a real win for the people who actually pulled it off — a legit action star showed up, took it seriously, and let the office play along for an afternoon.
