The Yak Crew Spins Up a New Bit: Jerry Scams

The post-Yak hours turned into a content factory, with Viva La Stool rolling out a Jerry-fronted MicroPod and a lie-detector gag built around a clearly-not-random script.

The Yak universe doesn't clock out when the main show wraps. The crew keeps the cameras rolling, the bits keep stacking, and by Friday night the whole orbit had locked onto a new running joke: Jerry Scams. Throw in a Bush Gaming cap, a red retro microwave-looking speaker, and a 'random' script about Stephen A. Smith, and you've got a MicroPod that's basically engineered to clip.

The MicroPod drop with Jerry that kicked off the bit.

The premise is exactly as dumb and exactly as fun as it needs to be: hand Jerry a script, call it a baseline read for a lie detector, and watch the cold open write itself. The 'baseline' is a deadpan Stephen A. Smith rumor headline, which is the kind of choice that tells you the entire segment is a setup for a longer gag. Nobody is being polygraphed for real. That's the whole point.

From there the 'Jerry Scams' tag took over. It's a classic Barstool in-house ribbing — the kind of nickname that sticks because the crew won't let it die, not because anyone actually committed fraud. The follow-up clip leans all the way in, with Jerry parked next to two co-hosts in matching caps and that red speaker doing more on-camera work than half the guests Barstool books in a week.

What makes this whole post-Yak content stretch work is the volume. The Yak itself was already doing lookalike bits and intern-Braun promos earlier in the day, so by the time the MicroPod drops, the audience is primed for whatever the Viva side wants to run with. Jerry Scams isn't a story. It's a bit. And right now the bit is winning.
