Big Cat Is Building A Stadium Frankenstein At Chicago HQ

What started with a Colts AFC Finalist banner has officially escalated. Big Cat just secured a 43-foot piece of NFL stadium history, and Chicago HQ is starting to look less like an office and more like a museum of football oddities.

If you've been paying any attention to Big Cat's interior design philosophy, you know the man does not collect sports memorabilia like a normal person. He collects it like a slightly unhinged billionaire decorating a yacht. The latest acquisition is a doozy: the actual 'Get Charged Up' banner that hung at the old Chargers stadium in San Diego, all 43 feet of it, now headed to Chicago HQ.

The announcement, with photo evidence of the haul.

Big Cat: I have secured the “Get Charged Up”banner from the old Chargers stadium in San Diego. 43 feet long. Gonna be so charged

For the uninitiated: Qualcomm Stadium (RIP) was the Chargers' home for decades before the franchise bolted for Los Angeles in 2017. The 'Get Charged Up' banner is one of those pieces of Americana that should be in a Hall of Fame somewhere, not rolled up in a warehouse. Instead, it's about to be unfurled across an office in Chicago, which is objectively hilarious and exactly the kind of move that makes Barstool HQ feel like Barstool HQ.

Clem nailed the trajectory of all this. The Colts 2014 AFC Finalist banner — yes, a banner commemorating the act of LOSING the AFC Championship — was the first hit. Now we're escalating to literal stadium signage from a team that doesn't even live in that city anymore.

Clem calls the gateway drug for what it is.

The Colts 2014 AFC Finalist banner was a gateway drug for Big Cat and I am so excited to see the stadium Frankentein he creates at Chicago HQ

The 'stadium Frankenstein' framing is perfect because that's exactly where this is going. A piece of San Diego, a participation trophy from Indianapolis, and presumably whatever else Big Cat can talk a demolition crew out of next. At some point Chicago HQ stops being an office and becomes a roadside attraction, and honestly? That rules. Keep buying the banners. Buy them all.
