The Dog Walk beef between CaptainCons and White Sox Dave has been running so long it basically has its own standings now, and this week Eddie clocked it as somewhere around installment 47. It never really goes away, it just changes venues — sometimes the podcast set, sometimes the group chat, this week golf and grief.

Absolutely mopped the floor with @CaptainCons on @DogWalkBarstool again today He’s a big dumb animal isn’t he folks? Listen here. It was a bloodbath https://t.co/Y3HON96qMI https://t.co/KIJ6KCkaiw
That's the bit, and it's been the bit for a while: WSD declares victory on the pod, Cons shows up online with the receipts. This time Cons didn't just dispute the outcome, he said Dave crossed a line by dragging his daughter into it. 'He insulted my family. Specifically, my daughter,' Cons posted, still managing to call it a 'fun episode' on the way out. That's the tension underneath all the Dog Walk stuff — it's a bit until suddenly it's personal, and then it's a bit again five minutes later.
In between the insults there was, apparently, an actual Build-A-Bar Draft on the show, because nothing on Dog Walk is ever just one storyline at a time. Cons said he basically drafted one of his favorite real bars rather than build something new, which is either the smartest strategy in the format or the laziest, depending on who's grading it (post-75e5f792-6ff9-43c0-ac02-d3b37f0416e9, post-b0167248-49ee-45f8-9c04-c63b251f3f3b).
Then Friday happened, and it briefly looked like Cons had a real, non-podcast win to hang his hat on. He shot a 64 — his career low, by his own account — grinding out a personal best that most weekend golfers spend a lifetime chasing. Except he didn't get to finish the round, because daycare called mid-round to say his daughter had a fever and needed to be picked up.

Shot my lifetime low of 64* today. Pretty amazing feeling to grind for so long and finally go lower than I thought possible. Keep at it everyone *daycare texted mid round to let me know my daughter had a fever and needed to be picked up so I didn’t play 18
A dad leaving a career round to go get his sick kid should be an easy, universally wholesome story. It is not staying that way, because this is the same daughter WSD has already been sparring with Cons over, and The Dog Walk's own account posted that WSD thinks Cons flat-out lied about a hospital trip during their earlier fight. Whether that's read as trolling or a genuine accusation, it's the same running joke/feud colliding with real life at the worst possible moment for Cons to get any benefit of the doubt.

So now Cons is stuck defending both his golf game and his parenting story against a co-host who's built a whole recurring bit out of not believing him. The 64 should be the headline on its own. Instead it's just the newest exhibit in the Dog Walk case file, and knowing this crew, it won't be the last one this month.
