Wake Up Barstool Declares War On Georgia Baseball After Omaha Clincher

Dave Portnoy and Kirk Minihane spent Monday morning torching the Bulldogs after Georgia outlasted Mississippi State in extras to punch a College World Series ticket.

Georgia and Mississippi State played the kind of Super Regional game that ruins your weekend plans and your blood pressure. The Bulldogs were cruising, then State went back-to-back-to-back in the 7th to make it a 1-run game and flip the entire building.

Mississippi State's third straight homer cut Georgia's lead to 8-7 and cracked the door wide open.

From there it only got dumber. Jacob Parker followed with a go-ahead pimp job in the 8th to put State in front, Athens went quiet, and the SEC-on-SEC violence was officially in full swing.

Parker's 8th-inning blast flipped the score to 9-8 Mississippi State.

Of course Georgia didn't flinch. They clawed back to tie it, dragged the thing to extras, and Daniel Jackson did what Daniel Jackson does — launched a 2-run shot to left in the 10th to retake the lead for good. Justin Byrd's glove went flying, the dugout emptied, and the Bulldogs were Omaha-bound at 11-9.

Enter Wake Up Barstool. Monday morning, Portnoy and Minihane cracked the show open by reacting to the Super Regionals, and somewhere in the rubble of that extra-innings classic, Georgia baseball became Public Enemy No. 1 in the studio. Whatever the Bulldogs did — celebration, crowd shot, something on the broadcast — it was enough for El Pres to declare them officially dead to him.

And he didn't stop at a subtweet. Portnoy floated the nuclear option live on air: book a flight to Omaha for the College World Series for the sole purpose of rooting against Georgia. That's not a guy half-kidding. That's a guy who has already mentally bought the ticket.

"I may go to Omaha to root against them!" — Portnoy on Wake Up Barstool.

Meanwhile Brandon Walker is over here congratulating Georgia on the 2026 national championship before the College World Series has even started, which is the exact kind of jinx-bait that pairs perfectly with Portnoy buying a hate-watch ticket to Nebraska. Omaha is going to be a circus, and Wake Up Barstool just made sure the Bulldogs are walking into it with a target on their back.
