Dave Portnoy Can't Believe Michigan Choked Vs Iowa

The second half became exactly the grind he was scared of, and nobody was pummeling anybody. Brandon Walker found time to needle the Michigan alum over the Big House crowd getting loud on an Iowa third down, and asked whether that counts as Michigan's version of cowbells.

Then came the gut punch. Iowa got the ball back and went 91 yards, and with 2 seconds left Hank Brown hit Reece Vander Zee for a 16-yard touchdown on the last play of the game. Iowa won 20-19, per ESPN and the AP. Along the way Michigan also missed a field goal, dropped an interception and got a drive wiped out by a procedural penalty. That's how a team that led for most of the day loses the game. A few hours later Portnoy was still in his car in a Michigan hat, stewing over it.

I still cant believe they choked away that game I broke out in a cold sweat

The strange part is that Michigan might have played its best football of the season and still lost. Underwood looked like a real quarterback for long stretches, and that was the whole question after Week 1. But 'Breisman' doesn't hold up if you can't finish a game you should have won by 3 scores. Michigan is now 0-1 in the Big Ten. Next week we find out whether Saturday was a fluke or a warning, and whether the anti-Underwood crowd at Barstool gets its voice back.
