"He is a horrible judge of talent" isn't a small accusation to lob at Dave Portnoy specifically. Portnoy doesn't let stuff like that sit unanswered, and he didn't here either. He clipped the moment and posted his own response, going for the jugular in classic Portnoy fashion — not a defense of his track record, just a straight insult back at Dante.

"Keep in mind @DanteTheDon has severe brain damage" is obviously not a medical claim — it's Portnoy's go-to move when someone takes a swing at him on company time. He's used variations of that bit for years against employees, media rivals, and randoms on the internet alike. It's less an insult than a signature, and the fact that he bothered to fire it off within minutes of the original clip tells you the line landed.
None of this is likely to end in an actual fallout. Barstool personalities rip each other constantly, and Portnoy trading barbs with talent is basically part of the brand at this point. But with the exchange already bouncing around other Barstool accounts less than an hour after it happened, don't be surprised if it gets a full airing on Monday's Yak, with Dante getting the chance to double down or backpedal in front of the room.
