Dave Portnoy Runs Tunnel To Towers 5K, Matches Donations

At the start line, firefighters in full turnout gear stood at the front of the pack under an 'Honoring 25 Years' banner while the rain came down. Portnoy got a joke in anyway. He said he started slow because he had to hand off his mic first, and that otherwise he 'might've won.' This was a mass charity run with tens of thousands of people, so read that one as self-deprecation. Nobody is reporting a finish time.

The most striking footage of the day came along the course. Runners passed a line of uniformed FDNY members holding banners with portraits of fallen firefighters. Portnoy's own clip of that stretch made the rounds, and the reaction in the building went somewhere other than the memorial: the outfit. Kelly Keegs saw the footage and put Out and About and Pat on notice. Dave's shorts are going to be a topic on the pod.

That's how it usually goes at Barstool. The cause gets taken seriously, and whatever Dave wore to it gets roasted later. The Venmo match is the part that counts.
