UncleChaps and DonnieDoesWorld Recap Their Greenland Trip on Drop A Pin

Drop A Pin's hosts finally released their Greenland episode, and the whole thing was backed by barstoolWSD, who tagged along for the 5-day trek.

Drop A Pin is normally a weekly show where Uncle Chaps and The Wonton Don pick a random spot on the globe and dig into it from the couch. This time they actually went. The new episode is a recap of a 5-day excursion the two took to Greenland, one of the more remote and least-visited places on the planet, and it dropped with barstoolWSD along for the ride.

Dropped a little post Greenland @DropAPinShow with @UncleChaps and @DonnieDoesWorld talking about our 5 day excursion to one of the most remote parts of the world Check it out here: https://t.co/oBGZe6KNXI

Whitesoxdave, who bankrolled or at least co-signed the trip, put it plainly when he posted the episode: 5 days in one of the most remote parts of the world with Chaps and Donnie. That's a real commitment for a travel podcast that usually just talks about places instead of flying to them.

Part of the episode's promo push has been a map bit, with Donnie posting a clip asking fans to guess what a red-highlighted map of Europe, Greenland, Iceland and parts of North America is supposed to represent. It's a game-show segment stitched into the episode, not breaking news, so treat the on-screen guesses (Khan, is every place) as bits, not clues to anything real.

Chaps, for his part, isn't hiding how much he enjoyed the destination. He owned the critique that he gets a little too enthusiastic on these trips, then doubled down anyway, saying flatly that he liked Greenland a lot. For a guy whose whole gig is reacting to far-flung places, that's about as strong an endorsement as the show gets.

Im totally fine with people having the critique of "he likes things too much when he travels." I liked Greenland a lot.

Donnie sounded just as pleased with how the collaboration came together, saying it was a lot of fun helping put the episode together and that he hopes trips like this become a monthly thing. If Drop A Pin actually turns remote-location excursions into a recurring bit rather than a one-off, it's a real evolution for a show that started as armchair travel and is now sending its hosts to the actual Arctic.
