Duce Robinson out for season as FSU loses top 3 weapons

TLDR: Florida State's leading receiver Duce Robinson tore his ACL in Saturday's loss to Clemson and is out for the year, the third top playmaker the coachless Seminoles have lost.
The news came Tuesday from Pete Thamel, and it was as bad as it gets for a wideout having the best year on his team.

Sources: Florida State star wide receiver Duce Robinson will miss the remainder of the season, as he suffered a torn ACL against Clemson. He leads FSU with 438 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns.
Robinson was FSU's whole passing game. He leads the Seminoles in catches, yards and receiving touchdowns, with 24 grabs for 438 yards and 4 scores across 8 games. Clemson held him to 2 catches for 31 yards in the 36-24 loss, and somewhere in that game his knee went. The one bit of good news is that the tear is reportedly isolated with no complications, so he should be on a normal ACL recovery timeline. This is his 2nd year in Tallahassee and his 4th in college football, and it's the guy who went for 1,081 yards in 2025.
Then remember everything else that has happened to this team in the last week, because the knee is only part of it.

#FSU star Duce Robinson suffered a season-ending ACL injury in Saturday's loss to Clemson. Brutal for Duce and the Seminoles, who are now down their top three playmakers: Robinson, Ousmane Kromah, and Samuel Singleton Jr. #Noles t.co/Ls7Xth4RIa
Ousmane Kromah went down for the season at Miami. Samuel Singleton Jr. is out too. Now Robinson. That leaves quarterback Ashton Daniels throwing to whoever is left on the depth chart, a day after FSU fired Mike Norvell and ate a buyout of roughly $50 million. The Seminoles were 3-5 and 1-4 in the ACC when Norvell got fired on Sunday, and scouting director Rick Stockstill takes over as interim coach. So that's a new coach with no top 3 playmakers and 4 games left to save some pride.

Another blow to the Seminoles after losing Ousmane Kromah for the season at Miami.
The upcoming opponents noticed right away. Boston College gets the Seminoles this weekend, and the Pitt beat was on it within minutes too.
Pitt hosts FSU next Friday, so both of those teams now see a Florida State offense with nobody proven at the top of it. The Seminoles have been a mess all year, and with their best players and their head coach gone in the same 4 days, the next 2 weeks look more like a tryout for 2027 than a push for a bowl game.
The part that actually hurts is Robinson himself. He came in as one of FSU's big portal pickups, put up more than 1,000 yards last year, and was supposed to be the guy who kept this season from sinking. Now his last snaps of 2026 came in the loss that got his coach fired. People around the program say he's well liked in the locker room and around town. With a normal recovery timeline he should be back for whatever the next staff builds.
