The premise is simple. Stick a tee in the ground, point a camera, hand out cash if someone drops a ball in the cup. The execution? Apparently impossible. Fore Play has been running the Hole in One Challenge with Chevy and ONE1 Brands and the golf gods are clearly in on the bit, because the misses on Saturday were almost too brutal to be real.
The second golfer up flushed it and watched it lip out from an inch away — the closest thing to a cash prize without actually getting one.
An inch. That's the entire margin between cashing a check on camera and walking off shaking your head. And it wasn't even the only near-miss of the day. Barstool Trent stepped up and absolutely piped one too, leaving everyone watching halfway out of their seat before the ball settled just short of the cup.
Trent's swing produced one of the better looks of the day, settling inches from an ace.
Then there was the guy who turned the whole thing into slapstick — snapped his club mid-swing and somehow still parked it within 5 feet. If you're going to break your equipment, that's the way to do it. The pin placement on the 8th was no joke either, with Fore Play themselves flagging just how nasty the setup was.

Add it all up and you get the same conclusion the Fore Play guys came to themselves: there is something genuinely wrong with their on-camera hole-in-one karma. Riggs, Trent, Lurch, Frankie — they've watched enough of these challenges go sideways at this point to call it what it is. A curse. And until somebody finally drops one, this thing is going to keep being the most frustrating, most watchable golf content on the internet.
