Wyndham Clark Bombs The Memorial Wide Open

Wyndham Clark Bombs The Memorial Wide Open

A 45-foot eagle, a casual Scottie par, and a Brad Dalke sponsor's invite — Fore Play had a full Thursday plate at Muirfield.

Wyndham Clark has been searching for a spark all spring, and he found it on a single putter stroke at Jack's place. A 45-foot eagle bomb at the Memorial does not just move the leaderboard — it flips the entire vibe of a Thursday. Clark went from sharing the top of the board at -4 to sitting alone at -6 with a two-shot lead, and suddenly the guy who won a U.S. Open at LACC looks like the guy you have to chase again.

The putt tracks the whole way, and the graphic flips from T1 -4 to 1 -6 before Clark even reaches his ball.

The other half of the leaderboard story is the most predictable thing in golf — Scottie Scheffler doing Scottie Scheffler things. No fireworks, no 45-footers, just the world No. 1 walking onto a green in a pink shirt and tapping in like he is paying a utility bill. That is the entire Scheffler experience right now. Clark needs the bomb to make headlines. Scottie makes them by yawning.

Scheffler rolls one in with the caddie tending the flag — the caption tells you everything you need to know.

Away from the leaderboard, the bigger conversation on the pod was Brad Dalke landing a sponsor's invite to the Rocket Classic in Detroit. Dalke has been grinding the mini-tours and developmental circuit for years after a decorated Oklahoma career, so a PGA Tour start at Detroit Golf Club is a real shot at changing his life in one week. Kiz and the guys gave it the full Fore Play treatment.

Add in Grammy-winning country star Zach Top stopping by the show to talk handicaps and goals, and Thursday at Fore Play HQ was a stacked one. Clark's putt is the highlight reel, Scottie's par is the meme, and Dalke's invite is the underdog storyline worth tracking into the weekend. Muirfield is wide open and we are only 18 holes in.
