Coach Gruden Is Running The Yak Now And Big Cat Has No Say

Jon Gruden has settled into the Barstool office with one clear privilege: he and only he gets to crank the siren on The Yak.

Gruden's Barstool era is fully underway, and the man is making himself at home. On The Yak this week, Gruden earned what may be the most coveted unofficial title in the office — sole authorized siren cranker. Not Big Cat. Not anyone else. Just Coach.

The bit started simply enough: Gruden cranking the resistance dial on a stationary bike in the studio, grinning like a man who just discovered something fun and refuses to stop. The 'STOP CRANKING' caption burned into the clip says everything about how the Yak crew felt about it. But rules were established, and somehow Gruden came out on top.

Big Cat, for his part, seems genuinely resigned. He even tried to post about the situation and immediately mangled the tweet — firing off a follow-up to say the original sentence made no sense, that edit tweets don't work anymore, and that people should just figure it out. Classic Big Cat. The whole thing got wrapped into a new Viva TV drop, which is how you know the bit has legs.

Meanwhile, the Marshmello angle is its own thing. During a Wake Up Barstool appearance, someone cracked that Gruden's 2 favorite DJs are his son Deuce — who actually DJs — and Marshmello. It's a perfect dumb joke and it tracks completely. The man named a cocktail after himself and cranks gym equipment for fun. Of course Marshmello is in his rotation. This is the Gruden era of Barstool. Get used to it.
