In new comments to On3, Baugh made clear this was never really a coin flip for him. He talked about visiting other campuses and just not feeling it the way he feels Gainesville. That production made him Florida's first 1,000-yard rusher since 2015, and it put him 3rd in the SEC in rushing. That's not a guy programs let walk without a fight.
It also matters for where Florida's program is right now. This is a Gators team still figuring out its identity under a new coaching staff, and losing the one proven feature back on offense to a rival would've been a gut punch heading into a pivotal season.
