The Jeff Nadu saga has been a Barstool fixture since his rocky, well-documented exit and return in 2023, when a public pay dispute with Dave Portnoy nearly ended his run there for good. This week it flared back up in the weirdest way possible: an actual FaceTime call, offered up as hard evidence, that somehow made things murkier instead of clearer.

That's the crux of it. Nadu called Eddie with whatever he had, and instead of settling anything it just spawned more questions and more bits. Dave Portnoy himself weighed in with what he called the comment of the year, joking that Eddie will do anything to avoid actually engaging with Nadu directly — which tells you exactly how much good faith is left in this exchange.
Eddie, for his part, decided one call wasn't enough. By the time FaceTime number 5 rolled around, he'd made up his mind.
'Case closed,' Eddie posted, which is the kind of definitive statement that never actually closes anything on the internet. Sure enough, the discourse kept rolling into the next episode of BarstoolYak, where Big Cat made his return and got looped back into the drama whether he wanted to be or not. Big Cat later admitted he'd been trying to stay out of it entirely, telling the crew Nadu had texted him out of nowhere asking if he'd been following 'this dick thing' — and that his honest answer was he wanted no part of it.

That's the running bit here — nobody involved actually wants to be talking about this, and yet everybody keeps getting pulled back in. Kate's recap of the same Yak episode nailed the vibe: Big Cat back in the chair, Joey Avery sitting in, Ethan sporting a fresh goatee, and yet another Nadu update wedged into the middle of it all. It's become the show's recurring subplot whether the hosts plan it or not.
Meanwhile Viva La Stool used the same news cycle to push back on a totally separate gripe — the idea that BWalk is somehow hard to approach around the office.

Two threads, same week: one guy trying to prove something via increasingly desperate phone calls, another guy having his reputation defended by a candid clip of him just being a normal, friendly presence around the building.
