Keenan Allen's Colts career is 11 days old and already complicated. Adam Schefter reported early Sunday that the veteran wide receiver was arrested in downtown Indianapolis on two DWI-related charges, with FOX59 first on the story.
Colts WR Keenan Allen is facing two DUI charges after being arrested early this morning in downtown Indianapolis, as @FOX59 reported.
The arrest reportedly came less than 24 hours after the Colts wrapped their final preseason game Saturday afternoon, according to WRTV, which lists the preliminary charges as driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated endangering a person -- both misdemeanors. Allen only signed with Indy on August 19, a one-year deal worth up to $8.32 million that reunited him with head coach Shane Steichen, his old play-caller from their Chargers days.
Schefter followed up with more detail on the situation, and Ian Rapoport confirmed the same picture from the NFL Network side -- Allen was arrested and charged with DWI late Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The timing is brutal for a guy trying to prove he's still got juice at 34. Allen spent 2025 with the Chargers catching 81 passes for 777 yards and 4 touchdowns, a six-time Pro Bowler who's made a career out of being the steadiest option in whatever offense he's in. He bet on Indy's offense and Steichen's system to squeeze out one more good year -- now that bet comes with a legal cloud attached before he's caught a single regular-season pass in a Colts uniform.
It's also landing at the worst possible moment on the calendar. Rosters across the league are getting trimmed to 53 right now, and any off-field mess this close to cutdown day tends to get magnified, fair or not. Nothing in the reporting so far points to a suspension or roster move, but the Colts now have to manage a DWI case involving a receiver they just paid to be part of the plan.
ProFootballTalk's writeup lines up with Schefter and Rapoport's reporting -- Allen arrested, charged with DWI, story developing. Expect more specifics on the arrest itself, and likely a statement from Allen or the team, as the week goes on.
