While the league naps, New York is doing New York things. Somebody set up a folding chair outside Penn Station and started saying "Jalen Brunson" 100,000 times on a livestream. There is a handwritten sign. There is a counter. As of last night the thing was past 39,000 reps and climbing. This is the energy in the city right now, and Game 3 is not until tomorrow night at 8:30.

Meanwhile the Spurs got the classic NYC welcome wagon when their bus pulled in. Fans hung around the curb and somebody yelled the now-immortal "Yo Wemby, get ready to go golfing buddy!" at the team as they boarded. That is the hospitality Wemby and the Spurs signed up for the second they punched their Finals ticket. There is no soft landing here.

On the basketball side, Jason Williams went on camera and said if the Knicks are within 10 entering the 4th quarter of any game in this series, they are winning it. That is the kind of take that ages either incredibly well or incredibly poorly within 72 hours, but the logic tracks — Brunson has been a fourth-quarter assassin his whole playoff career, and Game 2 already showed how thin the margins are. Now everybody just has to wait an extra day to find out. Cool league.
