If you have been anywhere near Barstool this week, you know the temperature on Mintzy is somewhere between running joke and full-blown civic candidate. Big Cat floated him for mayor on The Yak, the office is debating whether the bit has gone too far, and Mintzy himself has been doing absolutely nothing to lower the heat.
The mayoral campaign got its first official pitch on The Yak.
Then late Friday night, the timeline flipped. The Mintzy character that lives rent-free in the office gave way to the Mintzy who runs that Ole Miss baseball account like it is his second job. Rebs on the road in a game they had to have, and the cap came off.

From there it was the full Mintzy-Rebs liturgy. Hang em and bang em for Austin Fawley. The reminder, for the 400th time this spring, that all year these Rebs have fought back to get the wins they need. It is the same shtick every weekend and somehow it still rules, because the guy genuinely means every word of it.

That is the whole tension with Mintzy right now in one night. The office is arguing about whether the bit is sustainable, listeners are mad, Big Cat is on record saying the wack-pack chaos is the point. And in the middle of all of it, the dude is up past 1 a.m. CT typing love letters to a college pitcher most of his timeline has never heard of. You can roll your eyes at the rest. The Ole Miss stuff is undefeated.
