Mintzy and White Sox Dave get scammed on fake tickets

TLDR: Ohio's Tate says Mintzy and White Sox Dave got taken for $400 on fake tickets, posted Mintzy's texts as proof, and TickPick is now sending the whole crew to Game 3.

The White Sox are up 2-0 on Cleveland in the ALDS, so Tate needed some good news. Two of his co-workers buying fake tickets turned out to be it.

The Guardians may be down 2-0 but I think I just found the edge we need If we can’t out hit the White Sox, I now think we can out smart them!! Mintzy and White Sox Dave just got taken for $400 on fake tickets 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you to @TickPick for saving the day. They are sending our whole crew + a camera man to tomorrow’s Game 3. Did the Gullible Two just jinx the Sox? Time will tell. But one thing is for certain: @TickPick rocks and Cleveland now has life!!!

In Tate's version, Cleveland can't out-hit the Sox right now, so maybe it can out-smart them, and the "Gullible Two" just jinxed Chicago. That's trash talk, not analysis. The real part is the save: TickPick is covering the whole crew plus a camera guy for Game 3 on Wednesday at Rate Field, where Chicago can close out the series. It's a nice gift for a game that matters this much. Sox home playoff tickets were going for up to $1,000 on the resale market before the series even started.

White Sox Dave was not interested in sharing the blame. Within the hour he was in Tate's replies, and his defense has a hole in it big enough to drive the Rate Field tarp through.

@OhioTate @TickPick Woah woah woah disavow. I didn't get taken for anything. I just chose to believe in your cohost Mintzy.

So by his own account Dave didn't get scammed. He just put his faith in the guy who did, and that guy is Mintzy. Then the replies turned on the story itself, with people saying the whole thing was a bit. Tate answered by posting the receipts: the texts from the day before showing Mintzy sending the guy $400.

I don’t understand why people are accusing this Fake Tickets story of being fake? Sorry to report that it’s hilarious and 100% true, but fine put on your Tin Foil Hats and complain about everything Here are receipts of the texts from yesterday and that Mintzy sent the guy $400

@OhioTate @TickPick There is no way that many people in the comments believe this story lmao come on

If you've followed Tate and Mintzy this fall, this is not new. When the 2 of them got back from their Ole Miss trip, Tate went on the Yak to recap it and had to fight the same "it's fake" crowd over Mintzy's weekend then too.

“Everyone that says it's fake, I don't know what to tell you. He had four room keys this weekend. He lost all four.” – Tate

Some guys lose 4 hotel keys in a weekend and then wire $400 to a stranger for playoff seats. Once Tate's texts were out, the story made it to the Yak, where the crew took it up on Tuesday's show.

Next up is Game 3 on Wednesday afternoon in Chicago, with Daniel Espino starting for the Guardians against Sean Newcomb with Cleveland's season on the line. Dave gets to watch his team try to finish the sweep from seats that actually scan. Tate gets to find out if his jinx theory holds up. Mintzy gets a camera guy following him around a playoff game, and based on his track record, that camera guy is going to be busy.
