MMB Hits 500 With A Mando Verdict That Splits The Fanbase

Robbie Fox and Clem dropped the 500th episode of My Mom's Basement on the same day The Mandalorian and Grogu hit theaters, and the verdict landed somewhere between fun spinoff and missed swing.

Milestone day at Barstool. Two flagship pods crossed the 500 mark on the same Wednesday, and Robbie Fox planted the flag early — MMB and Anus both putting out big round numbers on the same news cycle, which doesn't happen by accident when the calendar lines up with a new Star Wars theatrical release.

The MMB 500 itself was a Mando review with Clem riding shotgun, and Robbie did not come out of the theater with stars in his eyes. Good, not great. He was hoping the first Star Wars movie in 7 years would hit him with something he didn't see coming, and instead got a competent spinoff adventure pulled straight off the show's bench.

The sharper observation came later: the movie feels built more for someone who's never seen the show than for the diehards who've been with Din Djarin since Disney+ launch week. That's a real critique of theatrical-pilot strategy, and it's the kind of thing a 500-episode pop culture pod is uniquely qualified to call out. The Anzellans, for what it's worth, still absolutely rock.

Inside the building, Chaps — who's done plenty of MMB time himself — saluted the run, calling Clem the glue guy and pointing out what anyone who's tried to make a podcast already knows: 500 episodes is a grind nobody gets to by accident.

500 episodes ain’t easy. I love Robbie and Clem so much

Of course, the asterisk crowd showed up too. The honest accounting is that MMB is way past 500 and Anus is somewhere in the fog, but in the podcast world the round number is the round number — you celebrate when the marketing department says you celebrate, and you keep grinding the next one out.

A reminder that neither show is technically at 500, but who's counting.

It’s funny that two shows celebrated 500 episodes today and neither one is actually at 500 lol MMB is way over 500 and who knows what Anus is at
