Erling Haaland Ends Brazil's World Cup Dream

Norway knocked Brazil out of the World Cup 2-1, and Erling Haaland barely blinked while he did it.

Norway 2, Brazil 1. Round of 16. Gone. The favorites are out, and the guy who did it in celebrated like he was filing paperwork. Barstool's crew was locked into the Kings Cup bracket all night, and by the time the final whistle blew, the entire timeline had turned into one long Haaland victory lap.

Norway up 2-0 late, and the running joke was that Haaland treats every goal like it's his job because it is.

That stone-faced act is the whole bit with Haaland at this point — no fist pumps, no theatrics, just a guy who scores because that's what he's supposed to do. Eric Hubbs summed it up best: "No celebration. No happiness. Just greatness." The joke, of course, is that his teammates were doing plenty of celebrating for him.

Brazil didn't go quietly. Down 2-0 late, Neymar stepped up and buried a penalty to make it 2-1 and give Brazil one last gasp, with the match boiling over into a shoving match that earned a yellow card in the process.

Neymar's penalty made it a game again before the referee had to step in and settle the players down.

It wasn't enough. Norway held on, and Pardon My Take put it as plainly as it gets: Norway eliminated Brazil from the World Cup. For a country that's basically synonymous with World Cup soccer, going out in the Round of 16 is the kind of result that's going to dominate headlines back home for weeks.

The final whistle set off a full Norway celebration, with Haaland getting mobbed and consoled on the sideline.

Then there's the Viking Row — the section of Norwegian fans in the horned helmets that's turned into its own recurring bit at this World Cup. Every time Norway wins, it's the same shot: a stadium full of Vikings losing their minds.

The Viking Row erupted again after the final whistle, right on cue.

Norway moves on to face Mexico or England in the quarterfinals. Brazil goes home wondering if it just watched Neymar's last World Cup game. And Haaland, per usual, will probably show zero emotion about any of it.
