Let's be honest about how much that Ryan Day line carries. Tate has had a brutal month. Ohio State lost to Texas in week 2, and Tate had published an undefeated grid with a punishment for every possible loss, so the Texas L put him inside a McDonald's for 24 hours. The office has spent the whole time rubbing it in. Dave called it one of the great chokes of all time on Wake Up Barstool. On the Yak, Big Cat said he'd match the money Tate raised for ALS "in honor of Ohio State embarrassing all their fans," and he still refused to let his respect turn into affection.

So yes, a man who got through a 24-hour McDonald's shift over a football game can be devastated about a campus grill. Tate's audience knew exactly what he meant. The replies filled up with old campus loyalties, and the real rivalry turned out to be late-night food. One fan came out as a Clucks guy but still gave PJ's its respect.

There's a reason something this small hits so hard. Coaches and presidents change, and every Buckeye knows that. The spot you ate at after the bars closed is supposed to last forever. If PJ's really is gone, Tate has put it on his list of Ohio State losses, and considering what he's said about Ryan Day, he might mean it when he puts it at the top. The question is whether anyone brings the Fat Bitch back, or whether Tate is stuck with Clucks for the rest of the season.
Ohio State fans have had a rough September, and it just got worse for Ohio Tate. On Thursday night he told his followers that PJ's had closed. For anyone who never stumbled down Frambes Avenue at 2am, PJ's Grill sits at 15 E Frambes Ave, right on the edge of campus. It stays open until the middle of the night, takes BuckID, and was where a lot of Buckeyes ended their night. Tate didn't say where he heard it, only that it had been brought to his attention. We couldn't find a public announcement, so for now this is Tate's report and the mourning period has started without one.

"Long live the Fat Bitch" is exactly the kind of sendoff you'd expect from a guy who treats Ohio State like a religion. Twenty minutes later he went further and rewrote the "First they came" poem as a history of Buckeye grief. Tressel, Gee and Urban all left and Tate shrugged each time, because he was a kid, because he didn't care that much, or because Ryan Day was next in line. PJ's is where he finally snaps.
