Shane Bacon week on PMT was supposed to be a US Open tune-up, but the guys spent half the runtime doing their best Kentucky Sports Radio caller impressions and the other half mocking every Knicks fan who's currently picking out confetti colors. Big Cat teed up the rundown himself — Bacon, the best-of KSR callers bit, a Will Stein call-in, the fake parade setup, Hot Seat/Cool Throne, World Cup. It's the kind of grab-bag episode that only works because they commit to every bit harder than the last.

The Stein segment is the actual sports content, and it's exactly the kind of squirmy bit PMT does better than anyone. Will Stein is Kentucky's head football coach now, but he played his college ball at Louisville — so the entire interview turned into a loyalty test about whether the new guy in Lexington bleeds blue or red. Spoiler: he played there, so obviously he bleeds red, which is the funniest possible answer for a coach whose new fan base lives and dies on KSR call-in lines.

From there the episode pivoted hard into the running joke of the week: handicapping the MVP of a Knicks championship parade that does not exist. KFC is out here writing serious posts about the Knicks resurrecting NYC and saving basketball ratings, and PMT's response is to spend a segment debating whether Thibs gets a ring while capping every riff with a 'F--K WEMBY' punchline. It's premature parade talk dialed up to its dumbest possible volume on purpose.

The other thread of the episode is a city-wide turn against Elmo, which is somehow connected to the Knicks bit by way of New York being unhinged in June. Big Cat goes off on Sesame Street like it personally wronged him, which is the kind of detour that makes PMT PMT — you came for golf and a coach interview, you stayed because the guys decided a felt puppet is the villain of the summer.

Add in Big Cat's post-show decree that any Knicks fan not putting Jalen Brunson #1 on their summer NBA list is doing fandom wrong, and you've got the full PMT June package: one real interview, one running gag at New York's expense, and zero interest in pretending any of it is serious analysis. Which, for a Tuesday upload in the dead middle of US Open week, is exactly the right call.
