Barstool's Revolutionary War Series Gets Real

Not everything stayed reverent for long. Nick Turani got dragged into the bit as a fife-and-drum character, earning the nickname Little Drummer Boy for standing next to an actual drum in full colonial getup, and the crew couldn't stop hyping his fife playing like it was a buzzer-beater. Kate, who's tagged in a chunk of these posts, added the funniest real-world detail of the week: she's actually seen combat, and watching Donnie accidentally double-load his musket for an unplanned super blast was, in her words, the closest she's been to PTSD in a minute.

By the time the final episode dropped, the bit had escalated into a full-blown staged skirmish, complete with a fake bloody-nose gag and end credits shouting out the director and editor for turning a reenactment into something that looked genuinely unhinged. It's a weird mashup — a legit PBS historian's words next to Barstool guys getting dressed up like Magnolia Pearl models and nearly concussing each other with muskets — but that contrast is exactly why it's been the funniest thing the site's put out all week.

The Reenactment that got Real Shoutout @CoreySmutledge for directing and Nick Snow for editing the hell out of this scene. Also I forgot @Katiemoneygrabz has seen actual combat and hope this didn’t trigger anything.

With America's 250th anniversary still a year out, don't expect this to be the last time Barstool sends its crew back in time. If the reaction to this batch of episodes is any indication, they've found a format — real reenactors, a real Ken Burns cameo, and a bunch of guys who clearly weren't built for the 18th century.
