Schwarber Keeps Mashing While The Red Sox Keep Finding New Ways To Lose

Kyle Schwarber is on a one-man tear, the Red Sox are getting roasted by their own fanbase, and somehow Yaz just walked them off. Welcome to the worst possible timeline if you bleed Boston.

Kyle Schwarber didn't just go yard. He went yard AGAIN, in what is now an absurd 8 home runs in 8 straight games, climbing to 20 on the season. Every swing feels like a personal indictment of the Red Sox front office that didn't even bother making him an offer this offseason, and Fenway is letting them hear it.

The streak hit a full week of bombs with no signs of slowing down.

The earlier nightcap of this run was the cruelest cut for Boston, because Schwarber didn't just homer — he homered at Fenway, in front of the hometown crowd that watched him grow up in Waltham. "Sell the team" chants reportedly rained down. There is nothing quite like watching a guy you didn't sign trot the bases on your home field while your fanbase tells ownership to put the franchise on the market.

And then came number 20, because of course it did. By now the Schwarbomb has become a recurring bit across Barstool's baseball coverage — every night, another clip, another launch angle, another reason for Red Sox fans to scream into a pillow. Even Pardon My Take is just sitting back watching this guy hit baseballs into orbit on loop.

Number 20 on the year, and the streak rolls on.

Meanwhile, in Sox-world, Jared Carrabis is staring at the existential dread of rooting for a team that can pitch, can play defense, and apparently cannot hit a baseball if their lives depended on it. He floated a working theory that maybe — just maybe — the issue isn't the coaching staff but the roster construction. Wild concept. Marcelo Mayer at least gave the faithful a heartbeat with a tying knock late, which felt like the kind of moment that might flip the script.

It did not flip the script. Because in a universe with a sense of humor this dark, of course it was Yaz — yes, THAT bloodline — who walked the Red Sox off in extras. Schwarber dunking on the front office all afternoon, your own homegrown bat tying it up, and then a Yastrzemski ending your night in the worst way possible. As Carrabis put it, just another kick in the balls for a fanbase already running on fumes.
