Bosco Industries Season 3 premieres Oct. 6 with Rico paving

TLDR: Bosco Industries came back for Season 3 on Tuesday, October 6, with Rico Bosco spending a day in the blacktop business, and the footage got muddier with every clip.

Rico called his own premiere "a day in the business of blacktop." The first clip he posted was a pipe being pulled out of the mud.

Hard work is DIRTY work! Season 3 of @boscoindustries debuts now with a day in the business of blacktop. Presented by @junklessfoods

That's the idea behind the whole show. Rico picks a real blue-collar job, works a full day of it and finds out how bad it really is. Earlier runs already sent him into sanitation, in an episode Barstool billed as his most disgusting job yet. Season 3 opens on asphalt, which is hot, heavy and dirty, with Junkless Foods back as the presenting sponsor.

Rico’s day of paving was a SMASH hit right from the start. @junklessfoods

The "SMASH hit" line is a roller pun and it's exactly as bad as it should be. It also tells you how much paving actually goes on here: rollers, a milling machine, a dump truck taking ground-up asphalt, all of it on real residential streets and parking lots. This was an actual crew on an actual job. Rico had been teasing the episode for days, including on Jerry and Terry's House Call on October 1.

“We'll be back next week. New Bosco Industries next Tuesday. There you go. Paving.” – Rico Bosco

He said next Tuesday and it came out next Tuesday. That happens less often than you'd think around here. The paving was the hook, but the clip that took off was the utility dig. Rico and a coworker sink a metal pole into the ground with a water-jet hose next to an apartment complex pond, then he gets in there with a shovel.

One thing everyone knows about Rico is that he’s not afraid to get in the mud

"Not afraid to get in the mud" is usually a figure of speech. Here it just describes what's on screen. Barstool kept posting angles from the dig all afternoon, and each one was dirtier than the last, which is about the best thing you can say for a show built on Rico doing work he wasn't built for.

Season 3 is starting from a better spot than most Barstool side projects. Rico's argued on air that his shows deserve as much attention as the football content, joking that "it's Bosco Industries every day." A premiere where the paving and the mud both made for good clips helps his case. The full episode is up now. If the Tuesday schedule holds, the next job should be about a week away.
