Rico Bosco Meets His Newest Enemy On Pick Em Week 5

TLDR: Week 5 of Barstool Pick Em premiered Wednesday night, September 30, and the selling point was Rico Bosco coming face to face with his newest enemy, one week after naming a new arch-enemy.
Barstool didn't sell this one on the college football slate. It sold it on Rico.

This has been building for a while. Last week's episode went out as "Rico Bosco Reveals His New Arch-Enemy," and Week 5 picks the story up right there: whoever made the list now has to sit across from him. Pick Em is Dave Portnoy, Big Cat and Rico going through the college football card every week. For a lot of fans, though, the picks have turned into the excuse and Rico losing his mind is the actual show. Barstool has leaned on that hard. When a title gives you a name and a feud and skips the spread, you know what the episode is.
Dave is also clearly enjoying it. On the Week 4 episode he was already joking about Rico's feuds and floated renaming the Bosco Bash after how unhinged its namesake gets.
“I don't want to make the Bosco Bash like an insult thing, but it honestly should be the lunatic ball.” – Dave Portnoy
That's where the whole thing sits right now. Rico's beefs aren't side bits anymore. They're the hook, and the guy who signs the checks is the one hyping them. Dave went beyond the jokes on the show, too, and pushed the premiere from his own account the moment it went live.

Every main Barstool account posted the Week 5 drop within about 5 minutes, with the gambling account, the flagship and the clip accounts all running the same Rico headline. That's the company deciding where the attention goes. Rico isn't a guy who backs down when someone's sitting across the table, so the face-to-face is the whole bet. With the season only 5 weeks old, the list of people Rico can't stand should keep growing. If Barstool is going to put every new enemy in the title, he'd better keep finding them.
