RJ Mosley carted off with knee injury vs. Texas Tech

TLDR: Arizona freshman receiver RJ Mosley was carted off in Lubbock late in the third quarter with a left knee injury so bad ESPN wouldn't air the replay, and beat writers fear his season is over.
It happened late in the 3rd quarter of a 1-point game, with Arizona fighting to stay in the Big 12 race on the road.

3Q 1:27 | Texas Tech 24, Arizona 23 Arizona wide receiver R.J. Mosley was hit in the lower leg and the cart is being brought out onto the field. The Red Raiders force a Wildcats fourth down after a holding penalty on Rhino Tapa'atoutai.
Mosley went down at the end of an 8-yard catch, according to USA TODAY Sports, and went straight for his left knee. The broadcast made the call right away. No replay. When the TV truck decides you don't need to see it, everybody watching at home knows exactly what that means.

The cart came out, and the people who cover this team every day weren't hedging. Justin Spears went straight to the worst case: he called it fair to say Mosley is done for the year, and called him a promising receiver with a bright future.

Arizona freshman receiver RJ Mosley suffered a bad knee injury. I think it's fair to say he's done for the year. He's a promising receiver with a bright future. Hate this for him.
That's what stings. Mosley is a 6-foot-3 true freshman who played his way into a real role in his 1st college season. Kids don't usually do that at a Power 4 school, and Arizona needed it. The receiver room was already beat up: Chris Hunter and Giovanni Richardson had both missed 2 straight games after getting hurt Oct. 3 vs. Cincinnati, and both were only questionable for this one.
The defense was shorthanded too. Star cornerback Jay'Vion Cole, among the highest-graded corners in the Big 12, was ruled out after getting hurt vs. Iowa State the week before. Spears noticed his absence a few minutes before Mosley went down.
So the No. 21 Wildcats are dealing with a lot at once: their best corner in street clothes, 2 receivers just trying to get healthy, and now a freshman wideout leaving on a cart. Spears said Mosley looked heartbroken on the way off, and honestly, so did everyone watching.

RJ Mosley carted off the field. Absolutely awful for the freshman. He looks so heartbroken.
Now we wait on the MRI and an official update from Arizona. If the beat-writer read is right, Hunter and Richardson have to get healthy fast, because there's still a Big 12 title race to play for. For Mosley, it's a brutal end to a freshman year that was going about as well as one can. Hate it for the kid.
