Stool After Dark vs. Team USA Handball Keeps Giving

A late-night Pros vs Joes stream against the actual USA Handball team was always going to produce bodies. Two days later, the Kody ragdoll clip is the one that won't die.

The setup was simple and stupid in the best way. Barstool gets the United States national handball team into a gym, throws a roster of employees at them on Stool After Dark, calls it Pros vs Joes, and lets the cameras roll. The promo cycle was so loose that PFT was openly asking where to even watch it.

PFT flagging that nobody knew when or where this thing was airing.

I want to tune in but unfortunately i dont know what time or where to watch it. Feels like this hasnt been promoted enough by the usual channels (Ben mintz)

Once it actually went live, it was exactly what you'd expect when guys who podcast for a living try to guard professional athletes who throw a ball for a living. Mintzy volunteered for goalie, which is roughly the same energy as volunteering to stand in front of a Jugs machine, and Rudolph called his shot as the backup waiting on the ambulance. The shot attempts were rough, the defense was worse, and the bits started writing themselves about 4 minutes in.

One of the worst shot attempts in handball history, allegedly.

Eventually Team Barstool got on the board, but only after the rules got bent into a pretzel. A 15-on-3 advantage and an empty net will do that. Mintzy turned his goalie tour into content, Mikey Bets ate a few, Chef Donny dove around, and the stream did what these streams always do: produced 30 highlights and 0 wins that should count.

But the clip with legs didn't show up until the next day, and it wasn't a goal. It was Kody getting picked up and tossed by a professional handball player like a duffel bag. Once The Yak and the in-house clip accounts grabbed it, the ragdoll became the lasting image of the entire night, which is exactly the kind of thing Stool After Dark was built to harvest.

A second angle of the same toss, in case you needed convincing.

That's the whole pitch of Pros vs Joes in one possession. You bring in actual national-team athletes, you let the podcast guys cosplay as competition, and you wait for the moment where the gap between the two becomes physically undeniable. Kody just happened to be the unlucky body who delivered it on camera.
