Somewhere around midnight, StoolAfterDark kicked off a bit that has since spiraled into an all-night fever dream: try to make the world's longest putt, live, on camera, until somebody either sinks it or collapses. It was reportedly Lucas's idea, and it wasn't universally beloved before a single ball got struck.

The number they're chasing is a real one. The Guinness World Record for longest golf putt outside of a tournament sits at 466 feet 6 inches, set by Henry Grillo in Kohler, Wisconsin in August 2025. The line the crew set up on, roughly 156 yards, works out to around 468 feet, right in record range, which is why Nicky Smokes was hyping the shot the way he was before things got ugly.

156 yards with a putter off a bumpy fairway is a different animal than the manicured runways most record attempts get built on, and OhioTate found that out on his very first swing of the night when he barely got the ball halfway there. It didn't take long for him to start calling the whole thing the worst idea the group has ever had.
Hours in, the on-screen leaderboard told the real story better than anyone's commentary could. Attempt counts kept climbing while the greens-hit column barely budged, to the point where simply finding the putting surface started drawing sarcastic cheers from the clubhouse. Cons floated the theory that the course itself was rigged against them, wondering aloud whether the actual record putt was ever attempted on a front pin with long fairway grass like this one.

The physical toll started showing on stream too. Full swings for hours on end will wear anybody down, and by the early morning hours the broadcast cut to a participant visibly rattled, prompting Barstool Sports' own account to flag a man down at the stream. Whether that was Doitche, who nearly ended the whole thing with a shot that came agonizingly close, or someone else entirely, the vibe by that point was less golf challenge and more survival test.

Big Cat clocked out around 3:43 a.m. simply hoping the boys would still be alive by the time everyone else woke up, and as of the latest updates the putt still hadn't dropped. Given the record they're chasing sits barely 2 feet longer than the line they've set up on, somebody eventually finding the hole isn't out of the question. It's just going to cost them a very rough morning.
