Terrion Arnold has been out of work for over a month, but he's not short on suitors. The former Lions cornerback made his second visit to the Seahawks on Sunday, and by Monday afternoon he had a trip to New Orleans on the books too, per Mike Garafolo.
Arnold's situation is unusual for a 24th overall pick with two years of starting experience. Detroit drafted him out of Alabama in 2024, and he started 22 of 24 games for the Lions before the team abruptly released him on June 29 following his arrest on felony charges of armed robbery and kidnapping stemming from a February incident in Tampa. He posted a $1 million bond and has been on house arrest, with travel permitted only for NFL tryouts and team activities. His arraignment is set for August 13 in Hillsborough County.
None of that has scared off the league entirely. Arnold had already met with the Texans before Seattle brought him in twice, and his camp has indicated other clubs have reached out as well. Teams clearly view the football tape — 91 tackles, an interception and 18 pass breakups in two seasons — as worth the diligence, even with a pending felony case hanging over his head.
The Saints visit adds another name to the list of teams doing homework on Arnold, and it's notable given New Orleans' own need at cornerback. Whether either the Seahawks or Saints actually pull the trigger before his court date remains to be seen — signing him now would mean absorbing the risk of a life-sentence charge still working through the legal system.
For now, Arnold remains unsigned, doing the rounds of facility visits while the clock ticks toward August 13. Whatever happens in that Tampa courtroom will almost certainly shape which, if any, of these teams actually offers him a deal.
