Jerome Myles came to Texas A&M as a five-star prospect, the kind of receiver recruiting rankings promise will change a program. Instead, his time in Aggieland turned into a two-year run of bad luck that never let him actually play.

Pete Nakos broke the news that Myles is off the roster, and head coach Mike Elko later confirmed it during a fall camp press conference, citing personal reasons. According to 247Sports, the move had reportedly been in the works over the weekend before the staff made it official.
The injury history explains a lot of the frustration here. Myles tore his ACL before he ever suited up for A&M, then reinjured his leg during fall camp last year, wiping out his entire 2025 season before it started. Two years, zero game action for a guy who was supposed to be an instant difference-maker in the Aggies' receiver room.
It's a tough break for both sides. Texas A&M loses a talent they invested a top-tier recruiting evaluation in without ever seeing a snap of return, and Myles now heads into the portal, or wherever he lands next, trying to build a college career that's basically been on pause since high school. For the Aggies, it's one more name off a receiver depth chart that already can't afford to get thinner heading into the season.
