If you blinked at the end of Game 1, you missed the whole thing. The Wolves closed it out in a blur, the kind of ending where you look up at the clock and wonder why nobody on either bench bothered to stop the bleeding or set something up. Hubbs summed up the vibe of every couch in America watching it happen in real time.
This Wolves team has built a real reputation over the last couple of postseasons for not flinching, and Game 1 was another check in that column. Big Cat, who has been beating the Minnesota drum for a while now, was right there to salute the win the second the buzzer went.
And then there's PFT, who apparently called this one back when the rest of the boys were laughing him out of the room. He is, by his own admission, wrong about almost everything, which makes the rare hit all the sweeter. The victory lap is mandatory in that situation. Awooo and all.
Game 1 wins don't mean a series is over, but for a fan base and a Barstool office that has been all-in on Minnesota, this is the exact start they wanted. Now the Wolves get to do the hard part: do it again.
