White Sox Dave rides with Ohio's Tate to ALDS Game 5

TLDR: White Sox Dave spent ALDS Game 5 day riding to Cleveland with Ohio's Tate and family, while Mintzy took the Guardians moneyline at -143 and the Tates lost their lucky parking spot.
Cleveland won twice in Chicago after a trip to Dave's house to force a Game 5, so the Tate crew is returning the favor and hosting him. The road trip got off to a rough start.
Gas & Bathroom Break #1 (Small Bladder Dave had to pee) Dave is walking around the rest stop giving the it a review on his Go Pro “I give this place a 1.8 — I don’t feel safe here. This place is gross” After hitting someone with a “Go Sox” in the bathroom, I have reminded Dave we’re not in safe little Chicago anymore And please do NOT buy this man a shot if you see him at the bars!!!
A 1.8 rating for an Ohio rest stop and a "Go Sox" yelled in a gas station bathroom, all before lunch. Tate's real worry shows up in the last line, though. The problem isn't Dave mouthing off in enemy territory. It's Dave saying yes to every free shot Cleveland puts in front of him.
Meanwhile Mintzy put his money on Cleveland. This is 2 days after a Yak episode billed him as the office's #1 White Sox fan. Dave covered it like a wire service.
BREAKING: I have obtained an exclusive video of Benjamin Mintz discussing his play of the day on the @DKSports The play? Guards ML -143 Huge for Guardian fans as Mintzy is LAVA hot 🥵
The "BREAKING" and "exclusive" labels are a joke. The -143 isn't. The stakes are real, too. Each team won both of its road games in this series, and that's the only reason there's a Game 5. Over 17 regular-season meetings these two were separated by 5 total runs, and Cleveland took the AL Central by 1 game.
Now it's winner-take-all at Progressive Field Saturday night, 8 p.m. ET, with Sean Burke starting for Chicago and Gavin Williams for Cleveland. The winner gets the Rays in the ALCS. The loser gets a long winter of hearing about it from the guy in the next seat over.
By the afternoon the trip was a full family outing. Dave had gone from Chicago to Wadsworth, and the last leg to the Jake was a packed minivan with Dave in the back row.
We have packed 7 people in Uncle Steve’s minivan Across the back row from left to right: White Sox Dave, me, my Mom Next stop: Cleveland
Then the superstitions kicked in. The Tates have a lucky parking spot, and the attendant in Cleveland wouldn't give it to them. The whole family offered her money and she didn't budge. Dave, who badly needs Cleveland's luck to run out, was thrilled to report it.
Developing situation in Cleveland: The parking attendant WILL NOT allow the Tate family to park in the lucky parking spot They offered her a treasure chest worth of bribes, to which she said “my dignity has no price” Classy move from the classy people of Cleveland
"My dignity has no price" is a great line for a parking attendant, and Dave is right to call the lost spot a crack in Cleveland's mojo. Here's what's left: Mintzy is riding the Guardians, the Tates are parked somewhere unlucky, and Dave is deep in Ohio on an elimination night with strict orders not to accept a shot. He'll probably make it to first pitch before he accepts one. Whichever team wins, somebody in that minivan has a quiet 5-hour drive coming.
