Sports Central Turns the White Sox Clubhouse Into a College Roast

Sean Burke, Mike Vasil and Chase Meidroth pulled up to the Sports Central set, and the hosts immediately started clowning the 2026 White Sox for looking like a beer-league college…

The 2026 White Sox are not exactly drawing comparisons to the '27 Yankees, so when three of their guys walked into the Sports Central studio, the bit basically wrote itself. Burke, Vasil and Meidroth sat down for a hang, and the crew leaned all the way into the youth-movement energy this roster gives off.

The college vibes weren't subtle either. Hubbs floated that the whole roster feels like a college baseball team got called up, and the visual punchline was the Sports Central crew themselves — casual tees, hats, sneakers, dudes lounging in armchairs. If that's what a big-league clubhouse looks like in 2026, the line between South Side starter and intramural lefty is doing some heavy lifting.

Then Marty Mush did what Marty Mush does and showed up with receipts. He pulled Meidroth's old University of San Diego headshot up on the big board mid-segment, because nothing humbles a big leaguer faster than his own college Google Image results staring back at him on a video wall.

In between the roasting, there was actual baseball talk. The crew agreed that everyone inside the White Sox org always knew Murakami was the real deal — the kind of insider vouch that lands different when it's coming from guys who share a dugout with the dude. It's a take, not a stat line, but it's the type of thing podcasts exist for.

Hubbs wrapped the whole thing up by admitting the obvious conflict — great group of fellas, shame he has to root against them tonight, but that's just business. Then he doubled back later to note the Sox have a genuinely good vibe, which, given the standings, is doing a lot of work. Sometimes that's the best you can say.
