Alabama's second quarter buried this one. The Crimson Tide ripped off 28 unanswered points in that stretch alone, turning a manageable 10-7 game into a laugher by the break. East Carolina got single scores in the second and third quarters but never found an answer for Alabama's front seven, and the Tide tacked on 10 more in the fourth to close it out at 48-10.
It's worth remembering how much Alabama had to replace to get here — Ty Simpson, Parker Brailsford, Tim Keenan III and Deontae Lawson, last year's captains, are all off to the NFL.
