The gap here isn't close, and the Gophers should treat this as a tune-up before conference play gets serious.
Everything about Minnesota's ceiling in 2026 runs through Drake Lindsey at quarterback. He's back for another year, and so is Darius Taylor in the backfield, giving Fleck's offense a proven identity to build on before the schedule stiffens. A clean, mistake-free opener against overmatched competition is exactly the kind of rep this group needs to find its rhythm.
