Start with the Owls, because they're the team with the momentum. Zach Kittley's second FAU team is 4-1 and has won 4 straight since getting run off the field 66-21 at Florida in the opener. The scoring has climbed the whole way: 38 against Navy, 45 at UL Monroe, 66 against Texas Southern. They also had the open date on October 10, so they get to West Point rested while Army is coming off a physical conference game.

Army is a harder team to read. It opened by beating Bryant 59-3, and every game since has been decided by 4 points or fewer: a 28-24 home loss to South Florida, a 21-17 win at Temple, a 31-29 loss at Louisiana Tech, and a 20-17 home win over Tulane. Jeff Monken's team doesn't get blown out, but it doesn't blow anybody away either. The 33.3 points per game it took into the Tulane game look a lot less impressive once you notice how much of that came against Bryant.

The most interesting thing in FAU's résumé for this game is the Navy win. The Owls have already spent a week preparing for an academy offense this season and gave up 30 in a game they won by 8. So they know the assignment-football grind Army is about to put them through. They also know it's no guarantee of anything.

The style clash decides it. FAU wants a track meet, and Army wants to shorten the game, keep the ball and turn it into another fourth-quarter fight. Michie Stadium has been kind enough to Army this year, with a blowout of Bryant and a close one over Tulane sandwiched around the USF loss. The early forecast is in the mid-50s with a chance of light drizzle, which doesn't change much a week out but is nothing like early October in Boca Raton.

The injury report is thin. Florida Atlantic lists nobody. Army's only listing is receiver B. Mott, out with an undisclosed injury, but that entry dates from before the Temple game in late September, so check the updates later in the week. The real question is simpler: can an FAU offense that put up 66 points 2 weeks ago keep that pace against a team built to keep it off the field?
