Frame it as a measuring-stick game for both. Jax State needs to prove last year's head-scratcher loss to FIU was the outlier, not a preview of a program that's plateauing after its 9-5 breakthrough. FIU needs to show the bowl beatdown was a one-off and that Simmons' program is actually building rather than just clinching eligibility and cashing out.
