Georgia's the same team that watched its playoff run end 39-34 against these Rebels, and Gunner Stockton is back for a second full season under center specifically to avenge it. Ole Miss brings back Trinidad Chambliss too, but only after a legitimately wild offseason just to keep him on the field.
Chambliss had to fight for his 2026 season — an NCAA waiver denial, an appeal, even threats of legal action — before his extra year of eligibility got restored. That mattered plenty in Oxford, because Ole Miss also lost the coach who built that offense: Lane Kiffin left for LSU in the middle of last year's CFP run, and defensive coordinator Pete Golding finished the job instead before getting the full-time gig. Golding answered by landing one of the best transfer classes in the country, but replacing Kiffin's offensive fingerprints is still an open question.
