The bigger question for Miami is what's left of its defense. That unit got run through for 59 points at Pitt in the opener, and the only tape since is a 45-7 win over an FCS team that tells you little about whether the leak got patched. Cincinnati hasn't been forced to answer much of anything yet either — Boston College and Western Carolina are a combined 0-4 and neither pushed the Bearcats past the third quarter.
That gap in competition level is exactly why Saturday matters more than the numbers suggest. It's the first game all season where either team has to prove something against a roster that can actually match up with it, and it's Miami that's making the trip into a building where Cincinnati hasn't trailed yet.
