Darian Mensah is the headliner here. The Duke transfer threw 34 touchdowns against just 6 interceptions last season, dragged the Blue Devils to an ACC title, and now walks into a Miami offense loaded with Cooper Barkate and Malachi Toney, both coming off 1,000-yard seasons. North Carolina, meanwhile, still hadn't settled on its own answer at quarterback entering camp — Billy Edwards Jr., Miles O'Neill, Travis Burgess and Au'Tori Newkirk were all fighting for the job, with no clear frontrunner locked in.
UNC's offense was one of the worst in the country a season ago, and Bobby Petrino was brought in as offensive coordinator specifically to fix that.
