Louisville rolls into this one with real continuity: Jeff Brohm just signed an eight-year extension through 2033, and he's got his best offensive weapon back after Isaac Brown decided against testing the portal. Stanford, meanwhile, is starting over. Frank Reich is gone to the Jets after steering the Cardinal to their best season since 2020, and first-year head coach Tavita Pritchard has installed Michigan transfer Davis Warren as his starting quarterback for a program trying to reach a bowl game for the first time since 2018.
The Cardinals' offseason wasn't just about replacing a coach. Louisville brought in 31 transfer portal additions, including multiple four-stars, while also losing both of its defensive coordinators — Ron English left to watch his son's final season at Navy, and Mark Hagen is out as D-line coach. That's real turnover on that side of the ball, even with the talent Brohm has stacked up elsewhere.
